Summertime!

My father-in-law bought a boat a few weeks back and him, Quintus and my brother-in-law has had a few "fun days" on it just fishing and relaxing! This photo was taken on one of those days. Can't wait to be able to take Chanette out on the boat! My sweetheart! :) All is well here in sunny South Africa. We've been enjoying some much needed rain, so refreshing! :) Nothing like a fresh summer afternoon rain! We have been working in our garden a bit too and things are starting to come along nicely after the cold winter months. Quintus and i went out for the morning to have a bit of "alone" time on Thursday, Chanette stayed with her granny. I must admit it felt so strange doing it for the first time...i couldn't stop thinking about her and if she's ok and i found myself walking to the baby clothing in every shop hahaha! I love her so much! It's amazing how your life changes once they are there :) Our baby girl went for her 6 weeks injecti

The latest :)

I am finally catching up on my posts! So sorry for the delay with the info and photos. Most of you have already seen some of the photos on facebook through my sisters. But that's ok, still wanted to share it on my blog. I want Chanette to be able to look back on this blog and have it as memories that her mommy kept for her :) These two photos were taken last week! She is growing so fast now, already packing away her newborn clothing! :( She changes everyday and i am having such a wonderful time getting to know her ! I really feel so sorry for moms who have to work while their babies are with someone else, they miss out on so much...but not everyone's circumstances are the same. I am thankful to the Lord that i can be a stay-at-home mommy! :) 5 weeks! :)

Starting a whole new journey :)

Of course the whole thing of not being able to sleep at night is true indeed...hahaha! But we can't complain, she is a very good baby, only wakes up for feedings every 3-4 hours and for nappy changing. She had bad cramps at 2 weeks and we took her to the pediatrician who gave us some meds and it's been much better since then.... But it is all a new journey indeed, challenging at times but fun and wonderful most of the time, so it's really worth it! :) The Sunday of her dedication :) 1 month old! :) Meeting her cousins!

Home from the hospital :)

Here are a few photos taken during the first few days back home. Taking in every detail of our little blessing and enjoying knowing that she is ours :)

5 September 2013

The day we have been waiting for and suddenly the 9 months of waiting felt like it went by so fast! I was scheduled for 7:15am to go into theater for my c-section. We were at hospital at 5am with my mom...she was such a great help! And my hubby was there next to me and with me constantly and as much as they would allow him to be! So after prepping me for theater and taking me there they did the epidural and made me lie down and it's amazing how fast it works. Within seconds i could feel it kicking in and minutes after that i could not feel my legs anymore...so weird and funny! Hehe! So it took a few more minutes before they would let Quintus in and he then came to sit at the top of my bed talking to me and keeping me calm...but i must say i was very calm and super excited to just see my little girl! Mommy and Daddy to be :) My mom and i  We are a family! :):):) 49cm 37cm Giving her a bit of formula right after birth because her blood sugar dropped t

Last pregnancy shots with hubby! :)

Oh my it's been ages since i've posted a blog! So sorry about that... :) But things have been quite hectic with getting ready for Chanette's birth and having her around these past 4 weeks. Here are a few photos that i have been wanting to share. These photos were taken the Sunday before her birth. I was really tired by then but also knowing that i would miss feeling her inside of me and holding my tummy i just had to take a few special shots! :) I did not want to be sorry afterwards.
