Stellenbosch and Franschoek

Our accommodation in Stellenbosch, Cape Town

The one where the kombi is parked was where we stayed. It is inside a complex with lots of these little townhouses....we had 2 bedrooms and it was self catering...just enough because we were out most of the time during the day. Really had a lovely stay :)

In her Bumbo seat :)
One of many moments in her car seat ;)
But she just LOVES driving!

Having breakfast in Franschoek...beautiful town! Just love it!

Relaxing under her playgym :)
It was during these two weeks that she started taking toys with her hands and enjoying the playgym that she got as a gift from my aunt while visiting them there...such precious moments!

Standing in front of a house my dad stayed in with his parents and siblings as a child growing up in Stellenbosch. One of many homes of his childhood :)

Having beakfast at Mugg & Bean

Love in Fanschoek :)

This was at a French restaurant where we had lunch...it was stunning, the scenery especially and so romantic!

Back at the holiday townhouse....just chilling :)
She was wearing her vests or just in her nappy most of the time, the heat was pretty bad at times.

The day we have been waiting for and suddenly the 9 months of waiting felt like it went by so fast! I was scheduled for 7:15am to go into theater for my c-section. We were at hospital at 5am with my mom...she was such a great help! And my hubby was there next to me and with me constantly and as much as they would allow him to be! So after prepping me for theater and taking me there they did the epidural and made me lie down and it's amazing how fast it works. Within seconds i could feel it kicking in and minutes after that i could not feel my legs anymore...so weird and funny! Hehe! So it took a few more minutes before they would let Quintus in and he then came to sit at the top of my bed talking to me and keeping me calm...but i must say i was very calm and super excited to just see my little girl! Mommy and Daddy to be :) My mom and i  We are a family! :):):) 49cm 37cm Giving her a bit of formula right after birth because her blood sugar dropped t...

Home from the hospital :)

Here are a few photos taken during the first few days back home. Taking in every detail of our little blessing and enjoying knowing that she is ours :)

Time seems to be something that passes by so much faster these days. I am sorry for being so quite with my blogs.  Chanette is almost 21 months and she is discovering so many new things. Talking in her own sweet way and saying so many words now. It is so cute to hear her having a conversation when she does not know i can hear her and she talks with her dolls or say all of the names she knows like "oupa, ouma, daddy, mamma....and then she says my parent's dog's name "shadow" and she names her aunties and uncles....not all of their names exactly right but she tries ;) She understands so well now and it is amazing how she looks at us and "copies" us. Just makes me realize again how big a role model we are and should be to our children. Here she is with Shadow :) The two of us on Mother's Day :) So very blessed to have my girly to share it with! xxx She simply LOVES "Winnie the Pooh's Heffalump Movie...
